Pet Adoptions

Check out our pets!

Thank you for considering the adoption of a companion animal from our Shelter.  Our goal is to find the right home for each animal, and the right animal for each home.  We want to be assured that the companion you wish to adopt is best suited to you, your home and lifestyle, and that the animal is placed in an environment that is compatible with its needs.

Before you make a lifelong commitment to adopt a companion animal, we need you to consider the following:

  • Pets require a significant time commitment.
  • A pet’s life span can be from 5-20 years. ?Some animals are better with children than others. Please consider your future plans before bringing home a furry companion.
  • Be sure that you are financially able to provide for the needs of the animal you are interested in adopting.  This includes food, supplies, vaccinations, license, and veterinary care.
  • Be sure you have adequate time and facilities to care for the animal you are interested in adopting.
  • Have the consent of all adults residing in your household.
  • Be aware that few animals are perfect. You must be prepared to give any animal you take into your home adequate time to adjust. You must also put effort into training the animal to help the adoption be successful.
  • Understand that this is an adoption, not a sale. Mohave County Animal Shelter reserves the right to postpone or refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the animal.
  • Post adopt clients are suggested to keep their pets quarantined for 14 days from other family pets.
