District 2 – Hildy Angius
Hildy Angius was first elected to the Mohave County Board of Supervisor in 2012, representing Bullhead City, Arizona. In 2014 and again in 2019 she was voted Chairman of the Board. Upon taking office she was appointed to the executive board of the Western Arizona Council of Governments and Chairman of the Mohave County Self-Insurance and Employee Benefit Trusts. From 2013-2018 Hildy served on the Board of Directors of Bridges to Recovery, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Mohave County substance abuse recovery community. She is also a member of Community Action Council for WestCare, Arizona. In 2019 she was asked to be the Community Liaison for the Arizona Healthcare Accountability Committee, a group formed to advocate for rural healthcare providers.
Chairman Angius graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1983 with a degree in English and Theater. Her first job was in the print promotion department at VIACOM Entertainment, Showtime/The Movie Channel in Manhattan and then onto CableView Publications after being recruited for the position of managing editor. In 1989 she became public relations manager for the CableTelevision Advertising Bureau.
After moving to San Diego in 1991, she worked as the managing editor of two peer reviewed journals and helped organize world-wide educational conferences for the Society for Computer Simulation, a non-profit scholarly society. Moving her marketing skills on to the world of technology, she became the marketing manager for Kokusai Wireless Technology and then LG Wireless where she oversaw a multi-million dollar advertising campaign.
In 2002 she started her own small business, an arts and crafts studio, which she sold before moving to Bullhead City in 2005.
Hildy has a one hour call-in radio talk show on Cameron Broadcasting, AM1490, called Live and Local with Hildy Angius which airs Tuesdays from 3-4:00pm. The show covers County and City issues as well as local events.
Hildy is a proud member of the Bullhead Area Rotary Club and won the “Service Above Self Award” in 2013. In 2011 and again in 2019, Hildy was elected 1st Vice Chair of the Mohave County Republican Party. She stepped down as the two-term President of the Colorado River Republican Women in 2014 after growing the organization’s membership from 21 to well over 130. She was also the three-term President of the Colorado River Condominiums Homeowner’s Association. In 2010 Hildy was appointed to the position of Commissioner on the Bullhead City Arts Commission and in 2011 she accepted a spot on the Bullhead City Strategic Planning Committee. She is a proud graduate of the Colorado River Leadership Class and the Bullhead City Master Government Class. She is also a 2010 graduate of the Dodie Londen Excellence in Public Service Series, Achieving Positions of Leadership for GOP Women in the 21st Century. She currently serves on the Bullhead City Complete Count Committee to promote the 2020 census.
