Affordable / Workforce Housing Initiative

Housing affordability is a primary issue for many communities in Arizona. Mohave County is no different and if we want to continue to attract new business, and be a tourist destination and retirement enclave while serving the housing needs of industries, currently, in our neighborhoods, the housing market shortage must be addressed to maintain affordability.

Vision

Provide quality, affordable housing solutions to the residents of Mohave County, at a variety of income levels, with a specific focus on affordable/workforce households that are cost-burdened and earning less than the Mohave County area median income of $ 49,712.

Local Housing Initiatives

Develop a collaborative approach to affordable/workforce housing in Mohave County Communities.
It is vital to Mohave County’s future to have affordable/workforce housing. Tools that will assist in achieving this will include a County-wide Housing Study, followed by a County-wide Housing Plan.

Partnerships

Partnerships need to be developed between the Lake Havasu, Bullhead City, City of Kingman, including the rural parts of Mohave County, and organizations such as WACOG, non-profits, private developers, elected officials, and others will need to assist with the development of affordable units.
