Section 8 Landlord Information

If you have a property you would like to list with MCHA for rent to a Section 8 tenant go to the Assistance Connect Website to list your rentals for free.

If you do not have internet access, fill out the Rental Listing Form and mail, fax, or e-mail to the appropriate office above. If you have several rentals or are a property management company, please e-mail the appropriate contact at the office below and ask to be placed on our Landlord List.  This list is given to Section 8 participants and applicants when they are looking for a new property.

Thank you for participating as an owner in the Mohave County Housing Authority (MCHA) Section 8 voucher program. Your participation is appreciated. As an owner in the Section 8 rental assistance program, you are required to fulfill your obligations under the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contract and your lease. Your lease must be approved by MCHA prior to signing by you and the tenant. Once approved, you may fax, mail or e-mail it to the office contact listed below. Housing Assistance Payments Contract

If you are a current Section 8 landlord and you are renewing your lease, you must give MCHA a copy of the proposed lease 60 days prior to its effective date. MCHA will notify you when your lease has been approved and you can execute it with the assisted tenant. You can mail, fax or e-mail to the applicable contact office below.

You are required to maintain the rental property in accordance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) established by HUD. Please view the Inspection Checklist. This is a sample list and is not all inclusive of what is required under HQS.

Inspection Checklist

You are required to give MCHA a copy of any notices that you serve on the tenant as a requirement of enforcing your lease.  You can do that by fax, mail, or e-mail to the applicable contact below.

You are required to notify MCHA of any changes in your mailing address in writing or if you no longer own or manage the property. You can do that by written notification via fax, mail or email to the applicable contract below. If there has been a change in owner and/or property mangement and you now own or manage the property, please complete the following packet and then fax, mail or email to the applicable contact below.

Change of Owner/Property Management Packet

You are required to notify MCHA if no member of the family still resides in the property or if the family has moved people in as occupants of the property.
