Permits must be obtained for ALL SIGNS.

Specify how the sign is to be placed, whether “stand alone” or attached to a building. This information will need to be placed on a Site Plan showing compliance with zoning setback regulations. Advise if it will be an electric sign. A copy of the proposed sign showing the wording is helpful.

Plans are required for review. Please include the “value/cost of the sign”. All sign permits will be reviewed individually and may be subject to engineering. Design and construction of signs shall conform to the 2018 International Building Code, Related Chapters Section 3107 and Appendix H as specified. Electric signs shall have an approved disconnect and outlet per National Electric Code, 2017 Edition.

All signs are subject to inspection.

  1. Signs shall be designed and constructed to comply with the 2018 IBC and 2017 NEC for use of materials, loads and stresses.
  2. Construction documents are required. These documents shall show the dimensions, material and required details of construction, including loads, stresses and anchors.
  3. Signs shall be designed and constructed to withstand 95 mph wind speeds.
