Permitting
The Mohave County Department of Development Services is responsible for processing applications for zoning approvals, land use permits and building permits in unincorporated Mohave County.
As a part of the One Stop permitting process, the Flood Control District reviews each permit application to ensure that it complies with current Mohave County floodplain regulations and to determine if there may be flood-related concerns.
The One Stop Permit shop is a central location at which the Public may apply for all necessary permits at one time. All applicable agencies receive a copy of the permit application and their comments are compiled into one response package for the applicant. The One Stop locations in Mohave County are:

A Floodplain Use Permit (FUP) is required for any changes to land in a special flood hazard area, including but not limited to, new construction, additions, grading, or installation of solid walls or fencing.
An Elevation Certificate is required for new buildings and substantial improvements in all identified Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs).

APPLICABLE LICENSING TIME FRAMES FOR THE FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
Approximate turn-around time frames are as follows:
If Development Services receives a complete application, the Administrative Completeness Review period begins. This review period is 10 working days. At this point, the application will be entered into the database and all pertinent departments will begin the Substantive Review process. The Substantive Review process for the Flood Control District is 10 working days. The Overall time frame for the Flood Control District is 20 working days.
