Duties of the Election Department

The Elections Department is the operating arm of the Board of Supervisors fulfilling the responsibilities of election administration.

The Elections Department:

1. Issues and accepts all candidate, recall, initiative, and referendum petitions
2. Issues and accepts all campaign finance forms
3. Establishes election precinct boundaries
4. Provides for the printing of all election related material
5. Secures use of facilities for election day polling places
6. Recruits, hires, trains and compensates poll workers
7. Prepares, allocates and transports election materials to and from polling places
8. Prepares and tests ballot tabulation equipment
9. Tabulates ballots
10. Provides election results
11. Coordinates and administers Primary and General elections

Mohave County also enters into intergovernmental agreements with the City of Bullhead City, the City of Kingman, the City of Lake Havasu City, the school districts and other special districts to conduct elections for local office holders and bond issues.
