Retirement

Thinking about retirement?  During your employment with Mohave County, you contribute into the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) or one of the divisions under the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS); including the Corrections Officer Retirement Plan (CORP) and Elected Official's Retirement Plan (EORP). We know retiring is a huge life event and want to ensure you are on the right path, as there may be a lot of factors to consider.  Below are informational components and links for you to learn about and start working on towards your retirement date.  Additionally, do not forget about Social Security (age 62+) and Medicare (age 65+) for additional benefits; links included below.  After years of hard work, you are entitled to a happy retirement!
 

Retirement Process
  1. Contact your retirement vendor to start.  See information in each vendor section below to determine the best timelines for starting this process. 
    • ASRS:

  2. Inform your department about your decision to retire. 
  3. If staying on the County benefits through COBRA and confirmed eligible for a benefit subsidy, contact HR with regards to subsidy paperwork.
