The act of purchasing, renting, leasing, or otherwise acquiring any supplies, services, or construction; includes all functions that pertain to the acquisition, including a description of requirements, selection, and solicitation of sources, preparation, and award of contract, and all phases of contract administration. The combined functions of purchasing, inventory control, traffic and transportation, receiving, inspection, storekeeping, salvage, and disposal operations.

The Mohave County Department of Procurement is responsible for the procurement and management of materials, services and construction, and disposal of materials, for all County departments and divisions in accordance with the Mohave County Procurement Code, Arizona Revised Statutes and Federal law.

County Recognized for Excellence
The Mohave County Procurement Department received the National Procurement Institute (NPI) 29th Annual "Achievement of Excellence in Procurement" award. This award was designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The annual award is earned by those public procurement organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score on a rating of benchmark criteria. The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function.
Mohave County is one of only 198 agencies in the United States and Canada (and one of only 49 counties) to receive this award. This is Mohave County Procurement's Nineteenth year to win this national award.
