Once a document is recorded, it becomes a matter of permanent record and cannot be removed under any
circumstances. Please make sure your document is correct to ensure no additional costs are incurred for
re-recording a correction.
How do I find out if there are any liens on my property?
You may search on any computer using our self-service
website! Please visit Recorded Document Search. The best search method will be by name under the “both name” fields (last name, first name).
Please note that research conducted in our records does not guarantee that your property is free and clear of any liens.
You should obtain title insurance from a title company.
Will you conduct research on my behalf?
We will assist you in how you may conduct a basic search, but our office is not able to conduct extensive research for you.
Can you tell me the owner of a property by the parcel number?
Not all documents in our system have the parcel number listed. You may want to go to the Assessor’s website to search. Please do keep in mind this website isn’t automatically updated once a document is recorded.
How do I obtain a copy of my deed?
You may request a copy from our office in person, by mail, using our Self-Service website or by calling us at (928) 753-0701. Copies are $1.00 per page. Our office and online site both accept credit cards
with a transaction fee. You will need to know the book and page, fee number, recording date or the names on the document.
What is an Affidavit of Property Value?
All sales of property in Arizona require a fully completed Affidavit of Property Value or an exemption number listed on the document. These exemptions are located on the second page of the Affidavit of Property Value form.
How do I obtain a copy of a birth or death certificate?
Information can be obtained at the Mohave County Public Health website or in person at 700 W Beale St Monday- Friday 8:30am-11:30am and 1:30pm-4:30pm or via telephone at (928)753-0748.
How do I obtain a copy of a marriage license or divorce decree?
These records can be obtained at the Clerk of Superior Court’s Office located at 415 E Spring St in Kingman or via telephone at (928)753-0713.
What happens to my document when it is presented for recording?
- We check the document to ensure it meets the recording requirements set forth in ARS § 11-480. If the document meets the statutory requirements, is complete and the proper fees have been paid, we will accept the document and assign it a unique recording number and make it a matter of permanent record.
- If your document is presented in person, it will be returned to you after being scanned into our system. If your document is mailed to us, we will scan the document image, then return the original to the return address listed on the document in approximately 4-6 weeks. Our indexers will then enter the pertinent information to create an index for
retrieval in the future. - If the original document is ever lost or misplaced, you may obtain a certified copy from our office
