Early voting begins 27 days prior to a standard election and ends the last Friday before Election Day. This is also the day that ballots by mail begin being mailed out.

All residents who are registered voters on or before the close of registration for a given election (29 days prior to the election) are eligible to vote early. For City, Town, School or Special District elections, you must be a resident of that City, Town or district in order to participate.

You can request an early ballot by calling our office or mailing us a written request for a ballot for a specific election or become an Active Early Voter (AEVL) by submitting a written request to our office.

The deadline is the second Friday (11 days prior) before Election Day. If you miss this deadline you can still vote early in-person up until the last Friday before Election Day. After this date, you will need to vote at your polling place on Election Day.

NO—All mail Marked “Official Election Material” cannot be forwarded. If the early ballot is returned to us indicating you are no longer at the residence address on file or that a forwarding order is on file, this will begin the process of inactivating your voter registration record. If you wish to have a ballot mailed to a “temporary” mailing address, YOU MUST call or submit a written request to our office

Ballots are unique to the address you reside at. If you lived in one city and now live in another, you want to be able to vote on the issues that will affect you now and in the future. That is why you may have a different mailing address but your ballot is determined by your residence address.

Your early ballot MUST be received (POSTMARK DATE DOES NOT COUNT) By 7:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted. We recommend not mailing your early ballot back later than six days prior to the election. You may also drop your early ballot at an early voting site or at any polling place on Election Day. BE SURE TO SIGN YOUR AFFIDAVIT ENVELOPE. YOUR BALLOT CANNOT BE COUNTED WITHOUT YOUR SIGNATURE.

Yes, but only one ballot will be counted. You may be required to vote a “provisional ballot” at the polling place if the status of your early ballot cannot be determined. Your provisional ballot will be the ballot counted if we have not received your early ballot back.

You will need to provide an Arizona Driver’s License Number, an Arizona identification number, a copy of your birth certificate, a copy of your passport, a tribal identification number or alien registration number. Paper forms are available at our office, at the post office, local library, county offices or online.

When you move, change your name or political party affiliation, you can fill out a paper form available at our office, at the post office, local library, county offices or online.

You should receive your new voter registration card within approximately 30 days. What is the deadline to register to vote? The deadline is 29 days prior to Election Day unless it is a federal holiday, then it is the next day.
