2025 COLORADO CITY SPECIAL ELECTION

The Town of Colorado City, Arizona has called an all-mail election to be held on May 20, 2025. To be eligible to vote in this election, you must be registered to vote within the district boundary – 205 North Canyon – C.

Mail ballots will be sent to all active voters within the district on April 23, 2025 to the mailing address listed in their voter registration record.

The deadline to register to vote in this election is April 21, 2025.
There will be no in-person voting for this election. Voters must vote using the ballot they receive in the mail. If a voter does not receive a mail ballot, they should contact the voter registration office as soon as possible, prior to May 9, 2025 to receive a replacement ballot-by-mail. If a voter spoils their mail ballot or needs a replacement for any reason, the Mohave County Elections Department will host a ballot replacement site on Election Day, May 20, 2025 at the location below. Voters must show valid ID to receive a replacement ballot in-person.

The ballot replacement site will be open on May 20th from 6am to 7pm at the Mohave Community College campus at 480 S Central St, Colorado City, AZ 86021

Ballot Language:
AMENDING TITLE III, CHAPTER 30, SECTION 020, OF THE TOWN OF COLORADO CITY, ARIZONA CODE OF ORDINANCES; RELATING TO THE DIRECT ELECTION OF THE MAYOR BY THE PEOPLE
REQUIRES THE ORDINANCE STATING THE MAYOR SHALL BE ELECTED BY THE COUNCIL BE CHANGED TO ALLOW FOR THE DIRECT ELECTION OF THE MAYOR BY THE ELECTORS OF COLORADO CITY FOR A FOUR-YEAR TERM.  

A “yes” vote shall have the effect of amending the Colorado City Ordinance requiring the mayor be elected by the Council to allow for the mayor to be elected directly by the electors of Colorado City for a four-year term. 

A “no” vote shall have the effect of keeping the current ordinance related to the election of the mayor. 


Arizona Revised Statute 16-409: “…a city, town or school district may conduct a mail ballot election.”
