Nomination Instructions for Rural Support Staff of the Year

The NAU Rural Resource Center is proud to honor outstanding support staff members who are making a significant impact in rural schools across Arizona. As they work together with rural schools across the state, they recognize the dedication and excellence of those who contribute to the success of our communities.

Rural support staff members can be nominated by Superintendents or Superintendent/Principals using the online nomination form. To be considered for this award, nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Full-time employment in a state-accredited or Bureau of Indian Education rural school in Arizona.
• Work in one of the following categories:
• Transportation
• Classroom Assistant/Paraprofessional
• Other (including Food Service, Secretarial, Crossing Guard, etc.)
• At least one year of completed experience in a rural school setting.

Nomination Deadline:
Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on February 14, 2025.

The NAU Rural Resource Center Advisory Board will review all eligible candidates. Winners for each category will be notified during the week of March 10, 2025.  

Awards:
One winner will be selected from each of the three divisions. Each awardee will receive a $500 stipend, and their school/department will also receive a $500 stipend.
