Some originating TV Networks carry other programing that have a different channel with another network. These displayed channels may move to another originating network or be replaced. The Mohave County TV District does not control the originating network content that are subject to change at any time. Questions regarding the TV programing or schedule should be directed to the originating TV network. This listing is provided by the Mohave County TV Improvement District by via the TV signal maintenance sub-contractor. It is intended to provide improved TV customer experience and navigation of the available TV signals in your area. Updated publications be made available when changes come to our attention

USEFUL TERMS, DEFINITIONS & INFORMATION

ORIGINATING NETWORK This is the actual broadcast organization that has a designation channel and callsign; for example, CBS KTVK-3 & KPHO-5, AzTV KAZT-7, PBS KAET-8, Fox KSAZ-10, NBC KPNX-12, ABC KNXV-15 and CW KASW-61.

DISPLAYED CHANNEL This is the channel number that displays on your television device. Note that some channels may be carried by another originating network; for example, KASW CW "Grit” is carried on the NBC KPNX Channel-12 network.

SUB CHANNEL All of the TV District channels have a primary number and decimal or dash displayed on your TV. The first number is associated with the originating network channel number and the second number is a specific program channel. Examples are 3.1 which is the primary KTVK CBS TV channel. 10.3 is currently is the KSAZ "Heros & Icons" program. Each network has different numbers of sub channels and even different sets of resolution display which is under the control of the originating TV network.

PROGRAM or also known as programming, is the actual content of the primary or the sub channel displayed. Newer digital TV’s usually have an "INFO” or other type of programing information button on your remote-control device (if available). Some remote-control devices require you to press twice to see all the complete programing information. Depending on what age and model of your TV, the program schedule may also be displayed.

TRANSLATOR is a general term to describe the TV signal transmitter in your area that your TV set receives. In the listings, you can see [ brackets ] that contain the actual FCC License Callsign. The translators in your area are fed by a variety of sources, and if you experience a TV outage the problem may not be the translator in your area. It maybe another source or event with the originating network. It is generally best to wait until the TV translator repair crews locate the source of the outage and repair it. If you scan your TV during a signal outage, it will likely forget all the channels that were off and not display them when the signal service is restored.

ANTENNA  AMPLIFIER is a device that is used when your TV signal is weak or defective. Use of these devices do not have a universal success rate, however, under the right circumstances they work well. Check with a qualified person to explain the indications for use. If you are using a TV antenna amplifier and it malfunctions, it will likely cause your TV to not receive anything.

EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM or EAS is built into the Mohave County TV service. It is used to warn viewers of impending or current emergency in your area. The system is tested on a regular basis to insure its proper function. This is done with minimal impact on the TV customer’s enjoyment experience.

SUB CONTRACTOR is the organization that maintains the Mohave County TV Improvement District. The telephone number below provides a 24/7 technical support option. If you believe a signal problem is due to your established TV translator in your area, you can check with Wecom (928-753-3829). TV outages can be, for example, caused by extreme weather events and are usually detected by the sub-contractor quickly. Rapid response follows and repair times depend on the scale of storm damage (if applicable) Note: Please check your antenna, cables and all accessories on your TV set before calling.
