JUDICIAL FORECLOSURE OF RIGHT TO REDEEM
TAX LIEN CERTIFICATE

The Treasurer’s Office cannot give legal advice. Please click the link to be taken to the Clerk of Superior Court, and obtain instructions on obtaining a “Foreclosure Action” on your Tax Lien Certificate.

Ten years from the purchase of a tax lien certificate, per ARS Statute 42-18121, if no action to foreclose is commenced, the lien expires and is void.
 
 The Treasurer’s Office requests: 
  • Copy of the “Letter of Intent” to be sent certified mail as per A.R.S. 42-18202
  • Copy of the “Complaint” and “Summons” so that we may place the appropriate information on the lien.
  • "Affidavits of Non-Redemption" (request form here) may be requested once you have your hearing date & time from the Mohave Courts. Affidavits must be requested at least three days prior to your hearing date.
  1. Affidavits must be paid for prior to release. If you are requesting an emailed affidavit please print your submission confirmation and mail that in with your payment. Affidavits being picked up at our office may be paid for at time the of pick up.
  2. Affidavits of Non-Redemption may be picked up after 4:30 PM the day before a morning hearing ot after 9:00 AM the day of your afternoon hearing.
 
UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER FORECLOSING THE RIGHT TO REDEEM
Send a “Certified” copy of the judgment foreclosing the right to redeem per A.R.S. 42-18205, and the applicable fees of $52.00 per parcel which includes:
  1. $50.00 Deed Fee, A.R.S. 42-18205
  2. $2.00 Notary Fee, A. R. S. 41-316
Upon receipt of all documentation, the Treasurer’s Deed will be processed.
