Controlled Burns Set at Bill Williams Bridge & North of Topock Marina

The Havasu National Wildlife Refuge has scheduled two controlled burns this week starting at Bill Williams Bridge the morning of Thursday, January 16th, and again north of the Topock Marina on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

These burns are necessary to rebuild local wildlife habitat and reduce wildfire threat to the Bill Willams River and the Topock Marsh.

Smoke will be visible to area residents in both locations during burning operations. Refuge fire crews will remain in the area over the next several days to monitor fire activity during these two operations.
