Mohave County Fair Now in Progress
The Mohave County Fair held an opening ceremony this morning at 10am. Ribbon-cutting participants included three supervisors, the county manager, public works director, and the parks administrator. The local Kingman VFW Color Guard hoisted the national and state flags as well.
Over 50 employees and volunteers are involved in the big event anticipated by thousands of attendees. County employees from many departments have been actively supporting the determined effort to make this year’s event hugely successful.
In the last 3 months leading up to the 2024 Fair, over $30,000 has been invested in facility improvements, including: fire panel upgrades for the Expo Buildings; electrical system upgrades in the livestock stalls; energy-efficient lighting fixtures throughout the expo buildings and stalls; and other general improvements to the expo buildings and facility grounds.
Last Saturday (8/31), dozens of individuals and families from the 4-H and FFA came out to the Fairgrounds and helped prepare the livestock and small stock facilities for the Fair.
All ribbons have been handed out and awarded to winners of multiple divisions as is the yearly custom. All are on display for the next several days.
