Mohave County’s Lake Havasu City Library Branch Announces Key Building Renovations

The county’s Lake Havasu City library branch has announced the renovation of its public bathrooms, lighting and outdoor patio. This overall rehabilitation project is designed to enhance the patron experience with an improved library facility.

The public bathroom renovations were made possible through Federal ARPA funds (American Rescue Plan Act) and allowed upgrades to the accessibility and comfort of the bathrooms, making them more user-friendly and up-to-date, with modern standards. This project required a complete rehab of the aged facilities and plumbing. The newly renovated bathrooms feature a range of improvements, including:

  • Modernized Fixtures and Amenities: Updated plumbing, drywall, floors, mirrors, dispensers, sinks, stalls, and toilets to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
  • Increased Accessibility: Enhanced design for easier access, including ADA-compliant features such as upgraded changing tables and new handicapped stall doors.
  • Fresh Aesthetic: A bright, welcoming atmosphere with new tile work, contemporary finishes, improved efficiency lighting, and water-saving fixtures.

The completed front bathrooms opened for public use on October 30th, with rear bathroom renovations still in progress, and due to be completed before the end of 2024.

In addition to the public bathroom renovation project, the interior lighting throughout the building has been renovated with state-of-the-art LED fixtures. As the aging fixtures had been deteriorating and failing, this important improvement has added more light in much needed areas, and has created a cleaner appearance. Immediate financial benefits have already been seen with a substantial reduction in the library’s monthly electric bill.

Finally, the outdoor patio beams have been thoroughly cleaned, freshly painted and sealed along with the façade soffits.

These renovations reflect the county’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of public facilities that continue to meet the needs of the community.
