Women, Infants, Children (WIC) Service Ready in Colorado City

Women, Infants, And Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition program that provides healthy foods, breastfeeding support, personalized nutrition education and referrals to other services that support families in need.

Brenda LoBue, Mohave County’s Nutrition and Health Promotion Manager says, “the Mohave County WIC program is thrilled to introduce these in-person services to our Colorado City community.” She adds that “while residents still have the option to receive phone services through Mohave county, some moms and guardians have a need for in-person connection. Having this physical location provides those opportunities to our families.”

The WIC services are operated out of the nursing department located at 2096 S. Hwy 389 Colorado City, Arizona. Residents who qualify can visit the office to collect their e-WIC card or breast pump, eliminating the need to travel to the Town of Fredonia or wait for these items to be delivered by mail.

Registered nurse, Diedre Barlow is available to answer health-related questions and connect residents to other resources they may need. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed from noon until 1 p.m. for lunch.

Those interested, should call (928) 753-8677 or visit https://www.azdhs.gov/prevention/azwic/ to see if their family qualifies.
